The Local Organizing Committee (LOC), for Women African Cup of Nations 2018, have unveiled a mascot for the tournament.
The Mascot, named Agro Hemaa, to wit, Queen of the game, was unveiled by the Minister of Youth And Sports Isaac Asiamah at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Friday night.
The LOC also unveiled a theme composed by Ghanaian musicians, Akosua Agyepong, Wiyala and Grace Ashley, much noted for her inspiring songs for the Black Stars when the team qualified to the World Cup in 2006.
A website designated to carry all information about the competition and previous tournaments was also unveiled.
The Minister of Youth and Sports ,Isaac Asiamah tasked the Black Queens present at the event to take up the responsibility of flying the flag of Ghana aloft by winning the tournament.
He had the assurance from the Black Queens who were represented by Spokesperson of the team, Gifty who assured Ghanaians winning gold is not beyond their reach, but she admonished citizens to throw their weight behind them to achieve the target.
