Former Black Stars defender Sam Johnson has called on Ghanaians to avoid calling for the premature retirement of Ghanaian players. The one time national super star called on the football family to desist from the persistent calls for retirement of players from the national team to build consistency in the team.
The retired Ghanaian quizzed his compatriots believes the experienced players can show the way forward for the upcoming young ones if given the nod. Speaking on the Football Legends Night Show on GHONe TV, the former Black Stars cited the cases of Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingston as the need for experience players in the team.
“How many years have they done that you want to go out? How many years have they served this country? How many good games have they played for this nation?”, Sam Johnson quizzed
