By William Sarpong

Founder and leader of Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, has been immortalized in two books telling the story of his life and his mission.

Apostle Safo has the privilege of being alive to witness the launch of the two books, which symbolize how his followers have accepted his teachings and leadership.

The books, titled ’The life story of Apostle Dr. Kwodwo Safo’ and ‘Kristo Asafo Mission: Sermons by Apostle Dr. Kwodwo Safo’ were written by Mr. Kwaku Boateng Agyenim, Deputy General Secretary of Kisto Asafo Mission and product of Apostle Dr. Safo Technological Institute.

The publications chronicle the history of the Kristo Asafo Mission, beginning with the main character, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo’s early childhood and how through God’s help he overcame many trials in the course of bringing his vision to reality.

The message of the books also give comfort and encouragement to those who through diverse ways seek redemption for their suffering.

The story of the Apostle reveals to members and non-members of the Kristo Asafo Mission the many problems he went through before God answered his prayer to establish his ministry.

Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo was born to Obaapanin Akosua Amoanimaah and Opanin Yaw Safo at Bom, a village near Kensere in the Amanssie East District of the Ashanti Region.

He was the sixth of seven children of his parents and the middle child of two sons who passed on and was therefore named Kwadwo Donkor because in Akan tradition and beliefs, children are sometimes named in respect of significant events.

The book on his life indicates a mystery about his birth that “overwhelmed his parents was a sign of rainbow that encircled him when he was born.”

“Anybody who wanted to take little Safo bowed to him else you could not pick him up. This mystery and his behavioral attitude made his parents to dislike him.”

“They got the belief that the boy was a child from one of the deities and once took him to a river side and performed some pacification rituals for the gods to take him back,” the book reveals.

The book indicates that unfortunately, “his parents did not live long to witness the miraculous power of God working through their son.”

Among the personalities that attended the book launch include Lawyer Kwame Dylan; Senior Lecturer at University of Ghana, Lawyer Festus Owusu Badu and General Secretary of Kristo Asafo Mission.
