Congolese giants, TP Mazembe, have expressed their gratitude towards two of the Ghanaian stalwarts, Solomon Asante and Yaw Frimpong, who exited the club following the expiration of their contracts.
On Tuesday, TP Mazembe officially confirmed the release of the Ghanaian duo with Asante joining Phoenix Rising FC of the United Soccer League, after joining the former African
Champions in 2013 from Berekum Chelsea. Frimpong, 31, on the other hand crossed over from Asante Kotoko in the same year.
“The two Ghanaian internationals have greatly helped the team reach its goals in the national league, the CAF Cup and also in the Champions League.
“The TPM would like to thank these great champions and wish them the best for the rest of their careers,” the club said.
The duo have been an integral part of the Lubumbashi giants, who have dominated African football for close to a decade now and medals they will take home includes Linafoot, African Champions League, CAF Confederations Cup and Super Cup.
