The Director for the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Samson Adamu will be in Ghana from 6th-9th July, 2018 to examine the progress being towards the hosting of the Total Women’s African Cup of Nations (AWCON) later in the year.
This will be the second time CAF will be in the country to inspect facilities for the 2018 Women’s AFCON.
The three-day working visit will see the CAF Director inspect the Cape Coast and Accra Sports Stadium, two venues for the games as well as hotels and training pitches.
Ahead of the visit, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has announced renovation works has started on the El-wak Stadium, Robert Mensah Sports Stadium and Nduom Sports Complex pitches.
The upgrading of the pitches is expected to completed by October, 2018.
The 11th edition of the AWCON will be staged from 17 November to December, 1st, 2018.
