Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tain have appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to sack Chief Executive of the Tain District of the Bono Region, Lawyer Clarity Oforiwaa Dwomoh.
According to the executives, the DCE’s attitude towards the party and its functionaries would disintegrate the frontier of the NPP and cause it to lose the parliamentary seat to the NDC.
At a press conference in Nsawkaw, the district capital, the Constituency Secretary, Adama Coulibaly, flanked by the Constituency Chairman, the Youth Organizer and other executives said the DCE poses a threat to the unity of the NPP.
He said the DCE on several occasions forced the police to arrest some of the executives who do not share her view and locked them up in police cells, cutting the cordial relationship that existed between her and the party.
He indicated that the DCE is not working to the dictates of her office and if President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo does not remove her immediately, the Tain seat would be lost in 2020.
Some of the youth of the Nsawkaw township have backed calls of the leadership of the party.
