SWAG Awards 2019: Partey Crowned Footballer Of The Year For Second Successive Time

His incredible display for club and country year under review earned him the prestigious award for the second successive time at the 44th SWAG awards night on Saturday at the International Conference Center.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has been named Footballer of the year, 2019.

He clinched the award by beating off competition from Kassim Nuhu, Joseph Aidoo, John Antwi and Felix Annan. Partey usurped his competitors after winning the second most prestigious club trophy in Europe, the Europa League with his club, Atletico Madrid of Spain.

The midfielder also contributed to helping Ghana qualify for the 2019 AFCON playing all the games in the qualifiers. The SWAG Awards is an annual award ceremony that recognizes people for their diverse roles towards the development of sports in the country.

Partey will be aiming to win the 2019 African Cup of Nations with Ghana.
