Former Skipper of the Ghana Black Stars, ‘Tornado’ Stephen Appiah, Kpok3k3 hit-maker Stonebwoy and actor Prince David Osei are set to lead colleague celebrities in this year’s 5th edition of Celebrity Workout which takes place this coming weekend on Saturday.
The event, put together by an-all media outfit, Primeval Media Ghana Limited, is expected to attract the big names in the country’s entertainment, football and business industries for an aerobics session starting at 6am sharp at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra.
Head of Social Media at Primeval Ghana Limited, Mr. Fred Ackumey told Ghana Crusader in an interview that “all preparations have been done” to ensure a successful programme. He said the workout session was aimed at inculcating the spirit of exercise in the youth for good health, wellness and fitness.
“We also intend to use this workout as a platform to bring celebrities closer to their fans, all in the supreme interest of peace and national cohesion,” he added.
Touching on why the programme has celebrities headlining it, Mr. Ackumey explained that celebrities have a major fan base across the country and are influential, hence banking hopes on them would have a major impact of driving home the “need to exercise, burn calories and socialise.”
The workout session, according to him, will attract over 1,500 patrons at the Aviation Social Centre. Experienced fitness instructors including former skipper of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah will be available to take all celebrities through the various fitness rudiments.
This year’s celebrity workout is sponsored by ladies’ clothing and sportswear dealer, Beautiful Beneath, Agricultural Development Bank, Royce energy drink, health provider and medical supplies outfit, Aegis, home appliance dealers TCL and Bethel Logistics.
