Special Competition Game Week 5: Hearts of Oak Win On The Road, Fatawu Rescues Kotoko In Bechem


There were seven games played across the various league centers for game week five of the GFA Normalization Committee Special competition.

In Zone B, Accra Hearts of Oak were the big winners for the week as they nicked a vital away points against in-form Liberty Professionals who had made the Dansoman Karl Reindolf Park a fortress in this season’s campaign. Former Nea Salamina striker Kojo Obeng Jnr got the only goal of the day to ensure that the Phobians picked up their first three points on the road.

WAFA SC also salvaged a vital point at Dawu against Dreams FC to maintain their hopes of topping the group.The game ended 1-1. Whiles Karela United also defeated Inter Allies 3-1 at Anyinase to consolidate their place on top of the zone.

Struggling Ebusua Dwarfs and Elmina Sharks settled for a goaless draw in the central regional derby.

In Zone A ,Obuasi AshGold got back to winning ways with a slim 1-0 victory over Medeama SC whiles Techiman Eleven Wonders defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-0 in another regional derby.

Asante Kotoko picked up a vital Away point on the road by drawing 1-1 with Bechem United. Abdul Fatawu Safiu got his 5th goal of the campaign by scoring the equalizer for the Porcupine warriors.
