A rattling incident shook all on board the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah when an oil contractor jumped overboard into the strong currents of the ocean last Tuesday .
Ghana’s Chief oil operators, Tullow Ghana Limited, confirmed that full emergency response procedures were set in motion to rescue the man whose reasons for jumping into the ocean are yet unknown.
Managers of the Jubilee Oil field released a statement that assured the concerned public of the unnamed man’s safety, insisting that the individual received emergency treatment and is being taken care off by a medical team. “There was no injury following medical assessment. Jubilee Oil operations were not impacted and continues,” the statement assured.
The contractor working with Tullow Oil Ghana, having been rescued at the oil exploration enclave offshore, Cape Three Points, was kept alive by the timely intervention of sea divers,within a period of ten minutes, with the immediate cause of the suicide attempt yet unknown.
