Frosinone Calcio midfielder Yusif Rahman Chibsah is brimming with confidence ahead of their Sunday’s Italian Serie A clash against Empoli. The former Benevento player has had a stellar season after playing every minute of the 27 games in the Seria A so far.
Despite the 26-year-old’s strong display in the campaign, the Canaries are languishing at 19th place on the table with 17 points after 27 games. The hardworking midfielder was overlooked once again by the Black Stars technical team in the recent call-ups for the Africa Cup of nation’s last qualifier game.
But Chibsah is ready to put the national team snub behind him and therefore believes their impressive stalemate with Empoli in the first round of the season will spur them on to overcome them on Sunday.
“Well II was looking up to getting a National team call up but I know it will surely come at some point. But I am focused on my club now.Looking at our performance this season ,it does not reflect our position on the league table at all as I have always said, but we are putting everything in our preparations for this weekend’s game against Empoli,” Chibsah told Ghanacrusader.com.
“Last Sunday’s defeat was painful since we scored first and Torino bounced back , we have learnt our lessons and would want to respond well against Empoli on Sunday”
A win on Sunday could spark some sort of revival for Rahman Chibsah and his colleagues as we approach the end of the season. They are four points behind Bologna who are placed 18th and five points behind Empoli, a team they will face on Sunday.
