The senior national female team touched base in the central regional capital, Cape Coast, to continue with preparations ahead of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
The team has been on a nationwide tour, where they paid courtesy calls on some high profile personalities including chiefs and have engaged in a couple of friendlies as part of getting ready for the championship to be staged in Ghana in less than 7 weeks.
The Queens touched base in Cape Coast from Tamale on Monday morning, after touring regions where women football is active.They have already toured the Ashanti Region, the Brong Ahafo and the Northern Region respectively.
The team engaged in friendlies with Kumasi Sports Academy , Ampem Darkoa Ladies and a northern region select side.
During their stay in Cape Coast, the team will also pay a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Cape Coast traditional council and other stakeholders in the region.
Meanwhile head Coach of the side , Bashir Hayford has hinted that the team may engage fellow African countries South Africa, Nigeria, and Zambia in friendlies hopefully next month .
Ghana will host 7 other countries from November 17th to 1st December with the top three countries securing a place in the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in France next year.
