The senior national female team, the Black Queens have been touring the Northern region by paying courtesy calls on some Regional chiefs since they touched based in Ghana’s biggest region.
Coach Bashiru Hayford and his charges are currently in Tamale as part of the team’s nationwide tour to build up ahead of the 11th Women AFCON to be hosted by Ghana.
They have already met the Regional Minister Hon. Salifu Sa-eed.
This morning they paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Sagnarigu Yakubu Abdulia in his palace.
The Second in command to the Sagnarigu Yakubu Abdulai, Wula- Naa Fuseini Narsam received the Queens and asked for blessings for them ahead of the AFCON.
The Lamashegu Palace is their next stop.
The team has already played the likes of Kumasi Sports Academy, when they arrived in the Ashanti Region, who they beat 4-0 and also recorded a 2-0 win against a select Ashanti Region side before playing out a 1-1 draw with Ampem Darkoa ladies in their Brong Ahafo region tour.
The tour of the regions is to give the team a change of environment and as well offer the team huge opportunity to play variety of teams to test their strength and abilities.
After spending more than a month at their Prampram base the team needed to change environment create that vibe across the nation ahead of the big tournament happening in less than six weeks.
The Black Queens are expected to face a northern region select side at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama stadium later in the day.
