Police strikes down three armed robbers in the Sissala East District

Three notorious armed robbers have been arrested at Sissala East District in the Upper West Region after attacking and shooting at a Hyundai trailer truck driver.

The incident which happened on Wednesday, December, 25, left the victim in injuries and was later sent to Tumu Government Hospital for treatment.

The Sissala East District Police Commander, ASP Stephen Abanga, who narrated the incident to the media, indicated that, the three armed robbers whose names were not given, attacked the victim at communities known as Sakai and Bandei in the Sissala East.

He noted further that, the suspect ordered the victim (driver) who had loaded  goods to stop at the middle of  two communities and upon his refusal, led to an attack which left him with an arm shot.

ASP Abanga, said, “we have arrested the three suspects and retrieved a locally made pistol from them.”

“They will be sent to Wa for prosecution after investigations”, he disclosed.
