#NSMQ2018: WASS contestant awarded full scholarship to study computer science

Abdul Hameed O. Tade, one of the West Africa SHS (WASS) contestants has been awarded a full educational scholarship to study Computer Science & Engineering at Academic City College.

The organisers of the prestigious academic competition announced this on their official Facebook page. The statement reads:

“After all the finalists of #NSMQ2018 were interviewed by Academic City, Abdul Hameed O. Tade, one of the West Africa SHS contestants was awarded a Full Scholarship to study Computer Science & Engineering at Academic City. The package is worth a total of USD40,000 (Tuition, accommodation, feeding, a laptop, monthly allowance, transportation to and from the house to campus will be provided twice in a year, i.e.once when school reopens and once when school vacates).”

Academic City College is an accredited premier higher education institution that offers degree programmes. The school is located in Accra, Ghana.

The 2018 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) came to successful end on Thursday, July,5,2018 with St. Peter’s SHS winning with 45 points, West Africa SHS from Accra managed to gather 44 points to place second and Adisadel College from Cape Coast went home with 39 points as the third best school in this year’s competition.
