Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, is accusing members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who complain about the general hardship in the country of plotting to confuse and deceive.
The Minister indicated these people are only out to exploit minds just to further a bigger political agenda.
According to him, those who parade themselves as NPP and express disappointment in the Akufo-Addo administration are not really party people.
He wrote “They pretend to be part of the tradition to confuse and deceive many unsuspecting people who may not be lucky to fall for their pranks.”
Incidentally the rising cost of living and hardship that have engulfed the nation since the Akufo-Addo-led government took over the reins of government have been condemned by many Ghanaians including members of the ruling government.
While some have praised the performance of the government and the policies being pursued by the government, others have also expressed disappointment at how things kept getting difficult.
Others, on the other hand, have publicly condemned performance of the administration and warned if things do not change for the better, the party would be booted out in the 2020 elections.
However, according to the Akim Swedru MP, those complaining are simply saboteurs looking to advance their own grand political agenda.
The comments of the Deputy Minister have drawn mixed reactions. While others claim his observations re true, others have condemned him as divisive.
A response under the name @Sampson Gyan said; “Kennedy you are not winning people over to your party with some of your comments and opinions statements ooh.”
@Agyiri Claufet, on the other hand, wrote: “That is one perspective of propaganda and we know them all by their seeds.”
@Scarlett Iwrite Ewurama could not hide her disappoint in her and wrote, “This post is in such bad taste. Wow!”
Below is the text of the MPs Facebook post
The little investigations I have done so far on Facebook indicates that most of the people who always parade themselves as NPP people and that they are disappointed in the Akufo-Addo Administration are actually not if you decide to probe them further and subject them to strict proof and intellectual debate.
They pretend to be part of the tradition to confuse and deceive many unsuspecting people who may not be lucky and fall for their pranks.
If anybody comes to your wall or post on his wall showing disappointment in the Government do not fight or attack the person just go the extra mile and probe further by engaging the person into intellectual discourse and you will see what is beneath their sleeves.
Do not be deceived by such people because they are only here to exploit on the minds of people just to further a bigger political agenda.
I am also aware that there are some genuine people here we must pay proper attention to the concerns they raise.
This category of people we can identify them because they are a few and speak out honestly and sincerely without being mischievous.
