Despite intense pressure from some football administrators and Ghanaians for the Normalisation Committee(NC) to quickly hand over the affairs of Ghana football, Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party Lawyer Obiri Boahen thinks the interim body was not given time to carry out extensive reforms.
But in an exclusive interview with Ghanacrusader Radio, the former Bofoakwa Tano club administrator said the extent of the mess created by the Nyantakyi-led administration was so huge that the NC should have been given two years to handle the affairs and sanitise the system.
“I cannot say that they have not done well because they have organised a competition which I think was well organised and well patronised.”
“I feel that they the Normalisation Committee should have been given about two years because the situation was so rotten to the extent that if you want things normalised, give them about two years because they will need time to normalise the system,” he said.
The Normalisation Committee led by Dr. Kofi Amoah are serving their second mandate given them by FIFA which ends on September 30, 2019 and this is equivalent to one year since assuming the office on August 29,2018.
Meanwhile, the NC have scheduled the GFA extra-ordinary congress for September 5 before their FIFA mandate ends on September 30, 2019.
