After showing gratitude to MTN for sponsoring the rehabilitation of the training pitch at Adako Jachie, Amos Frimpong has disclosed that, the facility would help prevent player injuries. The gesture forms part of MTN’s sponsorship of Asante Kotoko.
It is the second playing field to be constructed at the Adako-Jachie. Amos Frimpong shared his excitement about the new pitch and pointed out that, that the new facility would enhance their work while saving them from frequent injuries sustained at the ground.
“On behalf of the playing body, I thank MTN for the wonderful thing they have done for the team. We appreciate what they have done especially for the playing body because if you get good pitches to train on, it prevents too many injuries” the captain told Kotoko Express.
Upon seeing the new pitch, the captain revealed that, he would now prefer training on that than the old one to avoid injuries at training. “I will prefer the new pitch presented to us over the old one because the latest one fits the modern standard. It is important that, we start training on the new one to prevent the injuries I spoke about earlier on” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the objective of the project was to help improve Kotoko’s training conditions while enhancing the team’s overall performance either at home or abroad. MTN has been very supportive of Kotoko for almost a decade with their relation with the club starting in 2011 under the Dr. K. K. Sarpong administration.
