Irritated by the alleged imposition of an “unrecognized” statutory holiday by virtue of the Public Holiday Amendment Bill(PHAB) which re-adjusted the Founders’ Day celebration from Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday, 21st September, to 4th August, the NDC insists this displaces Nkrumah as the founder of the country and elevates the political fathers of the New Patriotic Party in his stead.

The top hierarchy of the NDC having pledged to re-look the matter if they regain political control of government through the ballot box, have hinted they are contemplating to embark on a demonstration to assert their displeasure with the Akufo-Addo administration on 4th August.
