NC Special Cup: Semi-Finals Format Explained

The final four action of the Normalization Special Cup is around the corner. With just one final round of games to the end, we still only have Hearts of Oak to have made the semis. As for who will step up to join the Oak Tree, we’ll only find out by Wednesday night.

But how will the semi-finalist be lined up?

Firstly, the competition’s organisers have confirmed, above all else, that the semis won’t be played over two legs.

“The semifinals of the #NCSpecial competition will be a one-off game. The winner of Premier A will play the runner up in Premier B and the B winner plays the runner up in A,” said the league.

It was also added that the home venues will be afforded to those sides who will finish as Group winners.

“Winners of the groups will have the opportunity of playing at home in the one-off game,” concluded the statement.

Zone A’s contenders:

Asante Kotoko SC
Ashanti Gold SC
Medeama SC

Zone B:

Karela United
Liberty Professionals FC
