Newly promoted Premier League side Techiman Eleven Wonders picked their first top-flight point after drawing 1-1 with Hearts of Oak on match day one of the 2018 Ghana Premier League on Sunday in Techiman.
The Techiman based side came from a goal down to a earn a point against the former Premier League champions.
The Phobians opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Winful Cobbinah’s spot kick. Hearts of Oak proved too strong for Eleven Wonders in the first half, they had a lot of chances but they fluffed their lines.
Hearts of Oak paid for their profligacy 10 minutes after the break as experienced Alex Asamoah restored parity for the home side.
Eleven Wonders then gathered some confidence as they piled pressure on Hearts of Oak but the Accra giants goalie Evan Gbeti was on hand to safe the former African champions.
Hearts of Oak regrouped and they took the game to Eleven Wonders but again they failed to hit the back of the net.
