Ghana international defender Malik Ismaila Antiri says he is delighted to score his first goal for Lebanese club Shabab Al Ghazieh since joining from Tanzanian Premier League side Singida United in the summer.
The 22-year-old’s crisp touch was enough to help Shabab Al -Ghazieh in their 3-1 win over SAFA on Saturday.
After suffering defeat in their first game of the season,Ivory Coast striker Christian Kiki scored twice for Shabab before Malik’s goal completed the demolition on the day as Shabab Al Ghazieh gave a positive response on the day.
Ernest Anang got the consolation goal for SAFA who are rock bottom on the league log.
Malik Ismaila was happy with the results and couldn’t hide his joy in an exclusive interview with Ghanacrusader.com.
“I feel happy to get my first goal and to help my team win our first game.We lost our first match of the season and we had to respond well for the fans to be happy” he told Ghanacrusader.com
“I’ve only played two games here, but I’m delighted to be part of the goalscorers for my team today.The 3 points is very important for us ”
Malik, who moved to Lebanon after a short spell in Tanzania was making only his second appearance for the Lebanese club.
“I have always thought about making my name wherever I find myself. Everyone has helped me settle in here. The fans ,my coaches and team mates have been very helpful. I just need to keep it going and stay positive.”
As he shifts his attention to their next game on 6th October against Al Ahed, Malik has urged the fans to support the team in their next fixture.
“The fans want success and I think they will have to keep supporting us and pray for us to make them happy.
