Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has reiterated the need for local coaches to be encouraged at various level of the national teams as well as the club level.
In the past expatriate coaches have been at the helm of affairs at the senior national until the recent appointment of Kwesi Appiah who has demonstrated his capabilities in
handling the Black Stars.
Expatriate coaches have dominated Ghana’s football at the club level with the two heavyweights Asante Kotoko and Hearts having foreign coaches at the helm of affairs currently.
Speaking on the Football Legends Night Show on GH One TV, the former Ankaragucu star insisted the need to put confidence and support our local coaches to help them
thrive in the respective endeavors because they are endowed with the requisite knowledge.
“I always being an advocate for a local coach thus a local person being at the helm at the various national teams, because we needed to learn from somewhere and we have came that far. To we need to encourage our own to take in charge.
“It means the various official at club level need to have courage in our local because some utterances by some club administrators are awful,” he ended.
