Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Sam Nettey George has revealed to the Commission of Inquiry that, he was not allowed to give his statement at the Legon Police Statement after he was assaulted by alleged National Security operatives during the Ayawaso By-election.
In his testimony to the Commission on Monday, Mr George hinted that, after the assault on his person he drove to the Legon Police Station to lodge a formal complaint but his statement was not taken, but he was made to write down a brief detail and return in a weeks time.
According to him, it was Superintendent Afful, of the Criminal Investigation Department who after a week called him before he was able to give out his story.
” Legon police station refused to take my statement. It took a week before i was able to lodge my complaints; even with that i was superintendent Afful who called me before gave my testimony.” he lamented
Mr. Sam George was on the Commission to testify to what transpired at the Ayawaso West Wougon constituency By- election. Sitting resumes tomorrow at 10 ‘0’ clock.
