Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, has written to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), officially informing the opposition party of his intention to join the flagbearer race.
In a letter addressed to the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the former Central Regional Minister said he will proceed to launch his campaign with the hope to share a new vision, a new start and a new direction anchored on the party’s value that will give the NDC a realistic chance of recapturing power in 2020.
He promised to run a clean campaign devoid of any negatives.
Mr Ricketts-Hagan becomes the sixth member of the NDC to join the flagbearership contest.
Dr Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Prof Joshua Alabi, Sylveter Mensah, Stephen Atubiga and Elekplin Agbemava are all in the race.
The NDC has set 7 December 2018 for its presidential primaries ahead of the 2020 polls.
