The Deputy minority spokesperson on health Dr Robert Kuga Nablem has bemoaned that, the health ministry’s handling of the recent spate of deaths at Kumasi Academy in the Ashanti Region hasn’t been the best.
He labeled the steps taken so far by the government as a failure, blaming the government’s lack of proactivity and swift response as the cause of death within a week, especially when there were traces of the disease from March this year.
As at yesterday, December 6th 2017, the Health minister Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu told parliament that the cause of death had not yet been established.
Meanwhile, the testing of some blood samples of deceased students is on going at the Noguchi Memorial institute for medical research .
The Member of Parliament for Binduri added that, the government could have handled the health crisis in a better way .
