Asante Kotoko deputy coach, Akakpo Patron, has hailed charges for displaying tactical maturity in their victory over arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The record Ghanaian champions defeated Hearts 2-0, to record back to back victory over the Accra based club in the space of seven days.
Obed Owusu opened the scoring for the Reds after a swift counter attacking football before Emmanuel Gyemfi sealed victory with a fine strike. Both goals came in the second half.
Hearts of Oak had the better of possession but could not capitalize on their dominance.
Akakpo Patron believes his side were tactically discipline than their rivals.
“Like I said earlier, they look fantastic and everything but we were more tactically discipline,” Akakpo said in a post match interview.
“At the end of the day on the counter attack, we are good on it so you can even see from the goals we scored,” he added.
“You will play but at the end of the day winning is important. Even if tomorrow they come, it will go on our way.”
The Porcupine Warriors have lines up another two legged friendly against regional rivals Ashantigold as the club continues to prepare for the uncertain return of the Zylofon Cash Premier League.
