Ghanaian international Kevin Prince Boateng is targeting Europa League football with the Neroverdi.
The 31-year-old secured a return to Serie A last month, completing a transfer from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
And the ex-Tottenham, Portsmouth, Schalke and Las Palmas midfielder wants his new side to qualify for Europe for just the second time in their history.
“There is an important project here,” Boateng told Gazzetta di Modena.
“I am working with a new Coach who really wanted me and I want to do better than I did last year.
“Let’s hope we can take our team back into Europe again.”
Sassuolo’s first and only European campaign to date came under now-Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
Following a sixth place Serie A finish in 2015-16, the Neroverdi progressed to the Europa League group stage before their elimination.
