In an attempt to sort out the mounting fan pressure concerning the structure of his team, Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has aired his reasons for preferring Italian international Jorginho to French world cup winner Ngolo-Kante in a deep midfield role.
The under-fire manager was defending his tactics in a press conference on Wednesday, February 20th in an adamant posture that told of a man who is not ready to bend.
Sarri affirmed Kante’s usefulness to the team but insisted Jorginho is his chosen one for the deep lying midfield role because he passes the ball faster than his French teammate. He asserted: “in that position, I want a player who is able to move the ball very fast. This is not the best characteristic of N’golo”.
He questioned the doubters and insisted he has a clear understanding of what he is about and believes his players will sort their collective mentality out before it is too late.
