Head coach of Karela FC, Johnson Smith, says his team remain poised for the upcoming Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, as they have targeted a top four slot.
The GPL newbies have had an impressive start in this year’s GHALCA G8 competition as they currently occupy second spot in Group B with three points and could qualify to the next round of the competition.
According to the highly experienced gaffer, his players are booming with confidence as the relish a successful outing in the upcoming football season.
“Our target for the season is to get to the top four and if even we don’t get there and manage to get a good position, we would like it,” Smith stated.
He added: “In our first match against Hearts my players were a bit shaky but after that they are booming with confidence and I hope we can carry that into the season.”
Meanwhile, Karela FC will come up against Medeama SC in the last round of group matches on Sunday at the Ndoum Sports Stadium in Elmina.
