A state facility built in honor of the memory of former President John Evans Atta Mills is at the risk of a rundown with the fuming contractor who executed the project, denying access to the public over unpaid wages.

The John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Library and Research facility situated at Cape Coast is wearing down, being firmly under lock, with both flags of Ghana and the University Of Cape Coast flying at half-mast around its compound.

“The keys are in my pocket; I will not release them until I am fully paid,” the contractor, Mr Kojo Mamphey insisted  amid feelings of injustice and betrayal.

With its metallic parts being eaten away with rust by virtue of the building’s closeness to the sea, political neutrals have started questioning Ghana’s true commitment to sustaining the national spirit and memory of past heroes.
