A host of Italian tabloids have lamented over Yusif Rahman Chibsah’s exclusion from the latest Ghana squad for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
The tough tackling Frosinone Calcio midfielder, who has seen more minutes this season than any other Ghanaian player abroad, was left out of Kwesi Appiah’s 24-man squad for the AFCON qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya on Saturday, March 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 26-year-old has been rock solid for the Canaries in the ongoing Serie A campaign despite their stand on the league log, but he has produced some fantastic performances throughout the season.
Inspite of the former Juventus academy product’s display, he was once again snubbed by Coach Kwesi Appiah in his recent Black Stars squad to face Kenya.
And many Italian tabloids have quizzed coach Appiah’s criteria for selecting players into the national team.Even though the canaries have had a bad season, Chibsah has been one of the league’s best central midfielders.
Kwesi Appiah instead have handed maiden call-ups to Asante Kotoko’s Kwame Bonsu, Dubai based- Ernest Asante and Alhassan Wakaso who plays in Portugal as his fringe midfielders in his latest squad.
