Inspirational Black Stars shots stopper, Richard Ofori, geared up for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World cup qualifier with an MVP in the ABSA Premiership. The Maritzburg United custodian landed himself the most valuable player accolade as a reward for his outstanding goalkeeping in the 1-0 defeat at Bloemfontein Celtic.
The Ghanaian import starred prominently for his visiting team in the slim defeat to land the MVP accolade on his eighth outing for the club in all competitions. The former Wa All Stars goal keeper unleashed some stupendous saves to keep the scores at 1-0 after conceding a 15th minute goal from Kenoshi Jacky Motts. Series of acrobatic and instinctive saves denied Celtic on several occasions to leave the scores at 1-0. Richard Ofori has since recorded 2 clean sheets in his eight appearances for the club.
The Black Stars of Ghana take on the already qualified Pharaohs from Egypt at the Cape Coast sports stadium on November 12 to round off a disjointed world cup qualifying campaign for the West Africans. Richard Ofori is expected to keep his place in the team for the all important clash after taking over the number one goal keeping duties in recent times.
