Ghanaian international Kevin Prince Boateng says he is Sassuolo’s Ronaldo, adding that he is ready for the upcoming campaign.
The 31-year-old attacker joins Sassuolo this summer, after a year stint with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Boateng can’t wait for the start of the Serie A as he has already netted five goals in just two pre-season games for his new club.
The former AC Milan man is also looking forward to playing against Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus from Real Madrid earlier this month.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined the Bianconeri in a deal reportedly worth £105 million to raise stakes in the Italian topflight.
But Boateng is ready to outshine Ronaldo, stressing that he is Sassuolo’s Ronaldo.
“Am I the Cristiano Ronaldo of Sassuolo? Maybe yes, but I’m 500 goals away,” he told Sky Sports Italia.
“I’d like to beat him, but first you have to beat Juventus and they have some other very good players.
“Besides, I can’t do it all alone. I need the help of my teammates, I can’t fight anyone by himself.
“His arrival proves that Serie A is very important, the best player in the world has arrived here and we can only enjoy his ‘landing’ because he’ll show us things we’ve never seen in Italy.”
