Accra Hearts of Oak defeated Dreams FC 2-1 on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium to clinch the 2019 S.T Nettey Memorial Cup. It took just nine minutes for Joseph Esso to open the scoring in the game, pulling through a fantastic drive outside the area to find the back of the net.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs man doubled the lead for the Phobians in the 35th after his shot deflected from outside the box past the clueless Dreams FC goalkeeper.
The Still believe boys threatened a comback in the 65th minute when Ernest Sowah brought down Micahel Amoah in box from which Patrick Arthur converted the eventual spot kick.
The match was played in honour of the then Commissioner of Labour and Social Welfare under the National Liberation Council (NLC) regime and onetime spiritual head of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr S. T. Nettey.
