The Youth and Sports Ministry led by Isaac Asiamah and FIFA’s delegation held a successful meeting in Accra today over the current situation facing the governance of football in the country.
The FIFA entourage complete of Veron Mosengo-Omba, Col.Hamidou Djibrilla and Solomon Mudege met with government delegation led by Isaac Asiamah to discuss the way forward for the country’s football.
Following Anas’ video which captured several officials and referees taking bribe to influence the outcome of games, the government issued a statement that they will take steps to dissolve the FA.
The government proceeded to court and they secured a 10-day injunction on the FA.
In order to resolve the situation, the Sports Ministry and FIFA agreed to meet on Friday over the issue, but the Sports Ministry issued a statement intimating that the meeting has been postponed.
Within some few hours, the Sports Ministry ate back their words and the supposed meeting was held by the two parties.
The Sports Ministry took to their Twitter handle and Tweeted:
