Ahead of the 2019 African Cup of nations in Egypt, two sworn rivals on the continent Ghana and Nigeria would engage in a pre-tournament friendly on a yet to be announced date, Genot Rohr hints.
According to the Super Eagles manager, the Black Stars are a perfect opposition to face ahead of the AFCON.
“We plan to play build-up games vs Ghana (in Nigeria), and maybe Senegal.” coach Gernot Rohr told reporters in Cairo, Egypt.
The Super Eagles are in Group B alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi. Nigeria have missed the last two editions and would be looking to announce themselves on the continent when the 24 countries converge in Egypt.
Ghana have been to eight successive Afcon semi finals and would be looking pounce on this year’s trophy. Ghana have been placed in Group F together with defending champions Cameroon and West African sides Benin and Guinea Bissau.
