Ghana FA Boss Wants Multimedia To Sack Maverick Sports Journalist Countryman Songo

Countryman Songo in action

Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has advised Multimedia to show popular sports journalist Countryman Songo the exit, adding that the latter is a liability to the company.

Nyantakyi has sued Songo and Multimedia and wants damages to the tune of $2 million.

Nyantakyi, who doubles as CAF’s First Vice President took the decision to sue Songo and the company claiming that the maverick journalist on his ‘Fire for Fire’ show on Adom TV made unsubstantiated claims of corruption against his personality.

“How much is their turnover in a year that a journalist is going to cause them $2m? If I was a media owner I won’t retain such a journalist because he is going to cost the company,” he told Accra-based Neat FM.

Songo has heavily been linked to a move to Zylofon FM.
