President Akufo-Addo has been set in the middle of a tug between Ga Chiefs and his alma mater Achimota Senior High School.
Upset Ga chiefs led by Nii Dowuona IV, have besought the office of the President for firm action against the reputed school in a back-and-forth land dispute that is beginning to threaten the quietude in Achimota .
Ga Chiefs are of the unbending view that by virtue of the school’s standing in the Ghanaian academic setting, administrators of Achimota school have taken a stance of defiance against a ruling that allocated a parcel of land under contention to the traditional council.
However, the school’s authorities insist, the Ga traditional council is stirring the waters of disharmony in their attempt to cower them into giving away something that is truly theirs .
Nii Dowuona, who is also the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, urged the President to step in this aching matter and put things in the right perspectives as time is running out. “Try and intervene and get this matter sorted for us”, he appealed to the president.
“We have gone a long way trying to demarcate the place and then issue it out to families in the community”, he added.
