On April 28th, 2018 in Philadelphia, Ghana’s Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe shocked the World by taking away Jessie Magadoleno’s WBO World super bantamweight belt.
The Ghanaian put up a five-star performance to prove the bookmakers wrong by stopping Magdaleno in round 11.
With his impressive display, the connoisseurs will now take a second look at the 23 year-old champion should he mount the ring again.
Dogboe had a shaky start in round one, he visited the canvas for the first time in his pro career, but he wasn’t despaired as he dropped Magdaleno three-times enroute to the stoppage.
The former Olympian now holds the WBO World super bantamweight strap, and his win is a warning to the other champions in the division.
Ray Vargas holds the WBC World super bantamweight belt, Daniel Roman is WBA World super bantamweight champion and Ryosuke Iwasa holds the IBF World super bantamweight title.
Vargas, Roman and Iwasa are crafty boxers, no doubt about their qualities, but analyzing how Dogboe destroyed Magdaleno no boxer will be ready to fight him now.
Dogboe’s power will be too much for the trio and he is really a threat to them.
