Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr Opuni
Kwabena Frimpong in an interview with Okay FM has stated that the family of the
three missing Takoradi girls deserved an apology from the CID boss and the police
department.
This was before the CID Boss, Tiwaa Addo Danquah in a press conference gave out
false information to the public about the whereabouts of the girls.

She said, “We have worked very well and currently we know where the girls are. We are
working hard together with other stakeholders so that these girls are brought
back home safely. My assurance to the family is that they should keep on keeping
on, the ladies we know where they are and they are safe. So very soon they will
be brought back home, and they will go back to their families.”
In her defense, she said she only wanted to give the families hope.
Rev. Doctor Opuni in the interview said that “the police are important to us because they are the first point of contact for the citizens security.”

He however stated clearly that it is not the assurance Tiwaa will give to
the parents of the missing girls that will make them happy, stressing “all they needed was to see their children.”

He insisted that the police service and CID boss Tiwaa Addo-Danquah should render a public apology to the parents of the missing girls and the general public.

He said the intelligence and Interpol teams should get actively involved to ensure the girls are reunited with their families if they are still alive.
