Ghana international Andre Ayew was an unused substitute in Fernabache’s 1-4 loss against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.
The former West Ham United and Swansea City player failed to make an appearance in the game as Coach Philip Cocu opted for a midfield trio of Topal, Benzia and Chahec behind Switzerland striker Michael Frey.
Ivan Sunjic opened the scoring for the Croatians in the 16th minute, followed by a Izet Hajrovic double in the 27th and 57th minutes of the game.
Dani Olmo’s 60th minute goal was enough to condemn Fernabahce to their first defeat of the campaign.
Roman Neustadter got the consolation goal for Fenerbahçe in the 47th minute.
The result leaves Fernabahce bottom of group D with Dinamo Zagreb,Spartak Trnava and Anderlecht above the log in that order.
