Villages such as Etwe Nim Nyansa and Kote Ye Aboa in the Aberim constituency are expected to be connected to the national grid.
The member of parliament for Aberim constitution, Mr. John Frimpong Osei has asked the Minister for Energy, whether the ministry has plans to provide off-grid electricity to communities in the Aberim constituency in the Eastern Region such Kyiri Ahanta, Twenwinso, Etwe Nim Nyansa, Kote Ye Aboa, Hwoa Ye Mmobo, Akyekyeresu, Tetteh Brofo, Asarekrom, Alhajikrom and Yaw Broni
Over 4,000 communities nationwide have been connected to the national electricity grid within the last five and a-half years.
Last year, Karpowership Ghana Company Limited announced that it has connected its 470 MW Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan to the national grid.
The powership, which arrived in August last year, has completed all requisite commissioning works, operational tests and has begun supplying power to the national grid.
