Spanish La Liga outfit RCD Espanyol have expressed interest in signing Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Darpoh from Amazulu, according to reports in South Africa. According Amazulu’s team manager Dlamini Qedi who confirmed the approach , RCD Espanyol are yet to write an official letter to ask for the services of the Ghanaian but have verbally expressed huge interest in the hardworking midfielder.
“There’s something from Espanyol… it is their wish.”Dlamini said.
AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela hinted last year that they were close to striking a partnership deal with Espanyol, and have on few occasions watched their home matches at the RCDE Stadium. According to Sokhela, the partnership was all about seeing Spanish giants, Espanyol, play pre-season friendly against AmaZulu at home and also the exchange programmes.
Darpoh, who was promoted to AmaZulu in the 2016-17 season when they were still campaigning in the National First Division, is a former Okwahu United player. The 21-year-old Darpoh recently extended his contract with AmaZulu for further three years. So far this season, he has featured in 13 PSL matches and cup games.
