Chairman of Ghana Football Association’s Normalisation Committee Dr Kofi Amoah has told Ghanaian club owners not to rely on government support ‘only’ for their continental campaigns.
Ghana government tabled a yearly package of $150K and $250K for CAF Confederation and CAF Champions League representatives after years of plea from the football circles.
Dr Kofi Amoah was answering concerns raised by the public about the provisions made available for winner of the special Competition tiers 1 and 2 winners in their African campaign.
“The issue of Government to support is worrying. Don’t rely on Government support only for Africa campaign.
“So l urge the clubs to find themselves some before waiting for Government to add up”, Dr. Kofi Amoah told Kumasi-based Oyerapa FM.
Asante Kotoko have booked their spot in the 2019/20 CAF Champions League whiles one of Nzema Kotoko or Ashgold will book a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
