A strong air of optimism is blustering through the camp of adored Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe as he readies himself to challenge for the WBO super bantamweight title he lost last year.
With the May 11th scheduled fight date approaching fast, the boxer’s technical team opted for a secluded training strategy in order to fend off media distractions. The training hideout in Keta, in the Volta region has suited preparations for the fight , according to insider sources.
The bid to reclaim the coveted WBO super bantamweight title has triggered a series of keen decisions including a reconstruction of the technical team for peak performance, come May.
Paul Dogboe, the boxer’s father who has been the main overseer of his son’s training regime has opened up to varying opinions in the quest to give Isaac the best possible preparation for the crucial bout against Mexican, Emmanuel Navarette who triumphed when the two boxers met in the ring last year.
“ I used to be the only technical person, but I have been spoken to”, Paul Dogboe said, alluding to a beefing up of the technical side of things in his son’s training camp. He proceeded to urge restless Ghanaian boxing fans that, things were not going to be the same in the re-match ,insisting, with the new hands on board, better things should be expected of Isaac Dogboe.
