Former Real Madrid defender Daniel Opare has been handed a late Ghana call-up for Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
The Belgium based player was handed the call-up on Tuesday following an injury England based right back Andy Yiadom. Opare, who has been knocking on the doors of the Black stars for sometime, was not called up initially.He comes in to replace the injured Yiadom.
The 27-year-old, who plays for English Championship side Reading, has withdrawn from the Black Stars squad for the match in Accra because of injury. Yiadom picked up injury over the weekend as Reading were held by Stoke City in an English Championship game.
