Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been arrested by the personnel of the Ghana Police Service.
Multiple sources tell Ghanacrusader Mr. Ofoso Ampofo was picked up this afternoon and subsequently moved to his residence for a thorough search to aid police investigations into allegations of his involvement in kidnappings and arson in the country.
No official word has yet been heard from the police administration.
It would be recalled that Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo upon the advice of his lawyers refused to honour an invitation to report to the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to assist in investigations into recent spate of kidnappings and arson in Ghana.
According to an earlier information by the police, a suspect is reported to have accused the NDC chairman of being behind the crimes.
