Chelsea new signing Christian Pulisic was named the Young Player of the 2019 Gold Cup, following a largely impressive tournament that saw the USA lose to Mexico in the finals.
The winger was instrumental for the country in the tournament and easily established himself as the driving force for Gregg Berhalter’s side as they came close to lifting the title.
His report card for the tournament was impressive, having scored thrice and assisted the same number of goals, coupled with 15 shots.

The former Borussia Dortmund put in a good show against Mexico but eventually ended in the losing side despite controlling the match for large spells.
Pulisic’s form and obvious talent will be a welcoming relief for coach Frank Lampard and Chelsea fans, who are still ‘recovering’ from losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
