Asante Kotoko SC have agreed to engage Burkinabe side Save African Child Football Club in an international friendly game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday, October 14.
This would be C.K Akunnor’s first game in charge as head coach of the side after he penned down a 3-year contract with the club on Monday.
Akonnor, who has signed a three-year deal, was unveiled as new head coach of the Porcupine Warriors on Wednesday, replacing Paa Kwasi Fabin who resigned from his role last month.
Asante Kotoko made the announcement through a press statement on Thursday afternoon.
The encounter would be Kotoko’s second international game since the Anas number 12 expose’ led to the halt of football activities in Ghana. Asante Kotoko traveled to Tanzania to face Simba S.C on 8 August and have since been engaging in local friendly games in Ghana.
The encounter will as well give in-form striker Sogne Yacouba the opportunity to play against his countrymen for the first time. Yacouba has been in a red hot form , scoring in bunches for the Porcupine warriors in recent friendlies.
